THE CHALLENGE

MOONBEETLE was asked to build a small online shop to sell merchandise for Antwerp’s most iconic health club. Initially, this was for around twenty products, some of which had variants (colour, sizes). The stock was centralised, but there were a number of collection points.

OUR SOLUTION

We developed an online shop using Shopify. In keeping with the client’s corporate identity, we entered all the product data and developed a custom checkout page so that customers could select their nearest collection point. The online shop was up and running in no time, and the client was able to start selling online. Sales went smoothly, as a large number of products were added in a short space of time.\

Having a small Shopify online shop built means you’ll get a professionally set-up online shop on the Shopify platform, which we’ll customise and style for you.
It means adding descriptions, photos and prices to your products, and setting up essential features such as a payment system (such as Mollie or PayPal), delivery options and tax settings. Don’t worry, we’ll help you through every step of the process.

Depending on your needs, additional apps or integrations are also added, such as a newsletter. The end result is a ready-to-use webshop that you can easily manage yourself, without needing technical knowledge — Moonbeetle typically also provides a short explanation so you can independently add products and process orders.

Good preparation and consistently formatted data
Make sure you can provide all product data in a consistent and structured way. So all product categories and subcategories listed in Excel. All product data (Title, SKU, price, color, size, packaging type, short description) neatly as rows in Excel or CSV. Moonbeetle can provide sample documents so you can supply your Excel or CSV in the best possible way. Texts thoroughly proofread so you don’t have to correct them afterwards and so the translation can also run more smoothly.

Special attention to images
For each product, good photos or packshots in the optimal format for the e-commerce platform. Moonbeetle provides the technical specifications in advance that images must meet. Image processing, especially with a large number of products, can be very time-consuming. You may need to engage a photographer or AI. Think, for example, of complex situations where you need a light-colored product on a white background that is preferably the same for all products.

Exceptions
By default, e-commerce platforms have the following flow: a visitor browses the product range, chooses a product and adds it to the shopping cart, possibly adjusts the quantity, and checks out. Exceptions to that flow may mean that we need to provide or develop a custom solution.
